No, this is not a depressing post. :D But

jazmine84 posted this picture tonight and I thought it was beautiful and so wanted to pass it along.

This weekend they (yes, the infamous They, but in this case a bunch of physicists in Australia) discovered a dying star, the bipolar Red Square Nebula. It's notable because it's almost perfectly symmetrical in its death.

And I thought the image was pretty, besides making me geek out a little. *g*

This star, of course, is dying, and will eventually collapse and explode, but you know, not for a while. :D

In other news, I'm in a great mood, because

inell and I have finished a thread at

stoatshead_hill that's left me squeeful and Roger on top of the world.
