Right so, Yahoo is shutting down Del.icio.us.
If you're like me you probably have a shitton of important links (read: FANFIC) saved that you don't want to lose.
I've just got an account at Diigo.com, an alternate bookmarking site that says you can import your delicious links directly to it. I just tried it and it told me that I'll get an email alert when it's finished importing everything (depending on how many links you have and how many others are doing it at the same time it can take a while). I don't know if tags will import completely but we'll see.
Here's a whole list of other things to try in case that doesn't work.
In other news, I'm home early from work due to snow.
In OTHER news, my Yuletide fic still has yet to exist. WHEE.

New Facebook and Twitter crossposting option for LJ.
I'm confused, so people can actually crosspost their individual comments in other peoples' journals onto Twitter and Facebook (which would include a link back to the entry)? Even if it's f-locked or screened?
If this is true, then it's not so terrible because if the post that the FB entry links back to is locked, strangers who follow the link would only see Frank anyway. Still, it makes me uncomfortable and seems like another way for LJ to be pointlessly annoying. Since I'd never use this feature, it wouldn't really bother me, except that we can't opt out of having our journals linked back by other people, so I think it does bother me, a lot.
Also, frankly, Facebook... kind of annoys me? And I do not want even my public posts to be floating around on there, so can I just say, those of you who comment here, if you could not crosspost any of those comments to your Twitter or FB page that would link back to my journal? No, seriously. I'm considering disabling comments and shuttling people over to my DW posts to avoid this. For some reason I don't mind my stuff getting linked around fannish spaces, but Facebook is an entire world of stupid that I generally like to limit my participation in. Not to mention the separation between RL and fandom that I've managed to maintain pretty well up until now.
So... I reckon that's all I have to say about that. (except, I have about 10 DW invite codes for whoever wants one.)
eta: Nifty! Firefox users, if you download Greasemonkey and use this script, you can apparently make this problem go away without LJ's help. I'm going to try it when I get home.

Feb. 14th, 2010 01:02 pmHappy Lunar new year. Happy Chinese New Year. Happy Valentine's Day. Happy Singles' Day.
Happy Sunday. ♥
js: I'm going to disable Google Buzz later today, I think, because of the privacy fail. So if I drop those of you I have added, it doesn't mean anything, I'm just not using it at all. :P
Social media I am using:
Twitter. Twitter is awesome, particularly when there are a lot of people on it watching the same thing and snarking about it. I mostly post randomness, links, pop culture observations, and occasional political outbursts.
+ Tumblr. Tumblr is my favorite, ya'll. It's ridiculous how much I use it. It's basically a way to share pretty and rad things and spread them across the land. My personal one is made of various picspams, links, video, and music. It is also faster than posting to LJ regularly. :P
------- My Merlin tumblr, WithFlowers, some of you already know about. Angel and Katie and Gwen and Morgana pretties, etc. :D I also contribute sporadically to Made of Gold for all things Angel and Bradley and Gwen and Arthur. It is the prettiest. (I barely ever post there at this point; it's
peopleareshapes who keeps it gorgeous. She also posts pretties to WF sometimes.)
+ My last.fm account.
+ I'm on facebook in theory, but I use it so rarely that I'll often go weeks without remembering to log in.
+ Instant messaging: Sometimes I'm on IM a lot; sometimes more sporadically because for me IM'ing can mean getting less things done. But I do like chatting. :D

+ Now, off to dig out the last part of my driveway and then I will be freeeeeee.
