i feel stupid, and contagious

I fail at organisation. Open beta starts tomorrow and I've done bugger all with this journal. So maybe a list will help, for if I can find some time tonight:

1. Upload more userpics - the easy part. I'm not bringing all my LJ ones over, plus I'll have room for twice as many as I have at LJ, considering I'm buying a premium account tomorrow.

2. Some sort of intro post with general stuff about me, as well as an access policy.

2a. Er, adopting an access policy. How are you all sorting that out? I don't filter much of anything, so this isn't something I think I'll be giving too much thought.

3. A layout that doesn't look like everyone else's, including a header image if this is possible, which I will want to make. This will include deciding what fandom said header will be about.

4. Arriving at some sort of decision as to whether I will post fic here, at LJ, or both. Leaning towards keeping them at LJ, merely because I like having feedback in one place if I'm fortunate enough to get it, but I'm not sure.

5. Something else that I've surely forgotten. (eta: mood theme! yes!) I was going to make a post over at LJ offering up invite codes, but I could always do that tomorrow, considering I have no idea how many codes I'm going to get.

Okay, let's try this crossposting thing.

+ I'm making this post in Dreamwidth, and it should crosspost automatically to my LJ and IJ from here if I'm doing it right.

+ I got new glasses and contacts on Saturday. Woot! I think my new glasses look a lot better on me than my old ones, which will motivate me to actually wear them more. :P

+ Also, I got an iphone! *boogies* Tax money FTW. I love it, it's the shiniest toy I have ever had. I am freaking out a little, though. I managed to go for eight-ish years of keeping a cell phone without ever having a contract (My old phone was prepaid.) Now, I'm stuck with AT&T for the next two years, for better or worse. Commitment makes me nervous. XP

+ I marathoned SGA again this weekend, and I'm now up to ep 5x08, The Queen. I think my reaction to season four and part of five deserves its own post, really, which I'll make later, but if I could describe it in one word, it would be: Ouch. Strangely not any less ouchy for having expected it.

+ The Nifty-ness of DW part 2232 -- look how it's growing!

+ So, I've been poking around, making friends here and there; adding communities and looking for tips. Also, I want to bring over some of the feeds I'm watching over at LJ. I'm having a lot of fun. *g* It's fascinating seeing this site coming together and I love how transparent and interactive the process is.

+ Speaking of friends, hay guys! Some of you I know from LJ, and a bunch of you I just met. I'm probably going to do some sort of proper intro post at some point before the site goes public. Good to meet you guys. ♥ I've not yet figured out how I want to do the subscription vs access thing; it's not a huge deal to me because I don't lock that many of my posts, normally, but it's still a neat feature to have.

Meanwhile I've been hoping to get my hands on some more invite codes so I can drag more folks over from LJ to share in my DW-squee.

+ I haven't been cross-posting between journals, even though I'm still posting at LJ. I plan to start crossposting everything once the site's in open beta, after I have all my icons sorted and the journal's paid for, and once I'm able to prettify my layout. Which reminds me, I should try installing a mood theme.

For those of you who aren't already watching it, I just thought I'd point to getting_started, in which people help each other get situated on DW. Tagging, crossposting, importing your LJ, etc -- it looks like there's info on all that functional stuff, if you click around.
