The LJ import actually worked; it just took hours to process and suddenly, the entries were there. *g* High traffic, I reckon. I have all my tags, comments and security features from LJ. Interestingly, the comments all look as if people commented with an OpenID that is their LJ URL. Nifty. FYI, you can do the import with the Import Helper tool. You can select which things you want to transfer.

eta: ftr, YouTube embeds within the posts don't survive the transfer, which I don't consider a big deal; it's the comments I'm most concerned about keeping. All other html seems to be fine from what I can tell.

Also, for those who don't know (because I didn't until such_heights told me), while we're in still in closed beta, you can test whatever account level you want, even the paid/premium ones. I switched to a premium one, because that's the one I'll be buying once they go on sale. Which means I now have room for 200 icons, pretty much. :D *rolls around in them*

Also, thanks again for getting me access!!! :) I'm loving DW already, though am still trying to import my entries. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong :/ I hope it's just taking a while. Guess I should be patient.

I know vitalitat had mentioned something about completely-locked journals not being able to transfer, but that could be just a bug that needs fixing. But then, inell was having problems transferring last night and her LJ isn't locked. I think there's just a backlog right now, but if it's a bug, then it'll likely get fixed.

I was so happy to see the 200 icons thing! Finally, I can indulge my insane, magpie-like need for hundreds of icons! \o/

The sad thing is I could probably fill almost all of that with Merlin icons alone...

Hmm, I saw earlier on my sublist where someone was crowing about LJ currently being slower than DW--maybe the uptick in imports is to blame?

Anyway, glad to hear the import tool worked for you! *is also rocking beta paid account* :D

I'm not sure! I remember back during the LJ Strikethrough when everyone was using LJ Archive to back up their journals in case they got deleted, LJ was pretty slow.

Got to say, I'm loving DW at the moment.
