So, after this post, my moratorium on political stuff in this journal is back into effect. Mind you, that doesn't mean I won't talk about any issues at all, but politics and issues aren't the same thing. Obviously, now that the election is over, I doubt I'll have anything pressing to discuss in the way of politics. I expect things will go back to the way they were before around September. FTR, I don't think I posted anything offensive anyway; at least, not intentionally. I've tried to stay mostly positive.

Unfortunately, my last political post does start on a negative note. The (now-official) passing of Prop 8 has me very disappointed. FAIL, California. And with all due respect? Fuck off, Mormon church. Sorry. But that's ridiculous. If you don't like gay marriage, don't have one. How is it more complicated than that? As a straight woman, I don't feel any potential marriage I might have would be in danger, nor do I fear what will happen to any kids I might have, if same-sex couples are able to marry. It's nothing but legalized discrimination. And while I'm on the subject, Arizona, Arkansas, and Florida, you also get three tickets on the Fail Boat (tm). Please proceed single file.

KTHNX

There was some good news on some ballot initiatives, though. SD and CO had victories with reproductive rights. And yay for Michigan and Massachussets on medicinal marijuana reform and Washington state on assisted suicide.

In other news, I'm still thrilled about Obama's win, but I'll stop spamming your flists about it. I know you all are sad. :P

Now, at least, I feel extra motivated to finish my [livejournal.com profile] livelongnmarry fic. Next week, [livejournal.com profile] smutty_claus.

Hope you guys are having a good day!
