Sep. 10th, 2006 08:38 pmHmm...so, looks like I'm no longer a ''lurker''....But at least now I can keep getting Tome Raider's recs.
Guess it's just as well, as I'm working on a fic of my own, over on Portkey.
About me. I'm 22, I live in MD...um, USA, and I work in in molecular biology research. Currently in grad school at night and working full time, which keeps me busy enough, and right at this moment? I'm definitely putting off studying. It's been over 2 years since I was in undergrad and it's kind of hard to get back into that groove, honestly.
My favorite fics... HP...Mostly over at Portkey, because I'm an h/hr shipper, and that way I can just get what I want. Authors I love are DeliverMeFromEve, Lynney (where are you-i miss Fixing Harry), Twitch E. Littleferret, Lorien829, w.y. back, and couple others as well. They all have ongoing stories right now that are really great. But a lot of their stories are rec'd by Tome Raider, so you know that. Oh, and at HPFF, I like Jessamina's stuff, and some others. I used to write for other fandoms when I was in school full time, and just sort of got wrapped up in other things for a while. Even though I don't want to write professionally, I like to do it in my spare time, it's a nice respite from the technical reports and seminars and research articles that are part of my real life. Problem is I have so little spare time. But some of the best writers out there, like some of the ones above, are married, have kids and everything - I'm so impressed by that; I don't know how they find the time.
But anyway, look out for my new fic, as yet untitled. I was trolling the Portkey forums and picked up a challenge that seemed the perfect starter h/hr fic for me. So. We'll see.
