+ So for the foreseeable future I am unable to access LJ or Tumblr at work. I COULD WEEP. I'm going to have to stop following a lot of blogs or start filtering more so it doesn't take me insanely long to get caught up in the evenings. I can read both on my iPhone but that can be a pain.

DW is still up though! But I don't have things set up to where I can read all my LJ stuff over here.

+ I'm through season 3 of my Doctor Who watch/rewatch, and guys, I reallyreallyreally love Martha. More than I remember. I hate how the show/the Doctor treated her, but at the end of the day she had the best resolution of any of the New!companions so far.

Also, I'm thinking of interrupting the rewatch with Torchwood, which I haven't seen at all. Is Torchwood a good life choice?

+ I'm nervous for you guys in the UK, and watching for election results. woldy has a great post on why to vote.

TORCHWOOD IS A TERRIBLE LIFE CHOICE, watch Sarah Jane Adventures instead! It's funny and sweet and the characters are amazing. Also it has POC that don't die and passes the Bechdel test every episode.

While generally I will admit to not liking Torchwood enough to recommend it the Martha mini-arc is pretty excellent and is some of the few truly engaging episodes I saw of Torchwood. And I don't think you have to watch all of Torchwood to get the episodes (I certainly didn't) so go ahead and watch for Martha because she is awesomesauce.

Just don't expect anything, and you'll be on the safe side.
That is, personally, I thought the third series was great television, but there are a lot of people who disagree.
Without saying too much, it seems as if RTD didn't want anyone else to play in his sandbox after his departure.

Torchwood is the dark crack, but it's worth iiit. The Captain Jack show where everyone makes bad choices & lots of innuendo & canon queer relationships. Also Martha being awesome for a bit, and Toshiko, who I loved.

I agree with everything in this comment. It's not good for you, but it feels so good when you're in it. It's disturbing and sexy and the quality is very uneven. Also Toshiko <3 <3

Torchwood totally broke my heart, but, when it's good it's great. I loved the episodes with Martha in, and in general S2 is pretty great. (S1 is patchy to say the least, but there are good episodes there too!)

Also, you clearly need Gwen and Tosh in your life.
