Dying Star

No, this is not a depressing post. :D  But 

jazmine84 posted this picture tonight and I thought it was beautiful and so wanted to pass it along.

This weekend they (yes, the infamous They, but in this case a bunch of physicists in Australia) discovered a dying star, the bipolar Red Square Nebula. It's notable because it's almost perfectly symmetrical in its death. 

And I thought the image was pretty, besides making me geek out a little. *g*



This star, of course, is dying, and will eventually collapse and explode, but you know, not for a while. :D

In other news, I'm in a great mood, because inell and I have finished a thread at  stoatshead_hill that's left me squeeful and Roger on top of the world.

And now, I'm off to bed. *glomps f-list* I hope you've all had a great weekend! <3

Strange that it's a death which has caused this beautiful sight. Strange when I can think of no other form of death that comes even close to beautiful. :(

Yeah, it's bittersweet, isn't it? It's dying, but still so beautiful. sigh. haha, turn off the Damien Rice, hon! Even I can't listen for too long. Man. Beautiful, but it brings me down. hee.

Roger and Hermione!! WWWWEEEEEEEE!! They couldn't be anymore amazing, could they? The steps they've taken and the realistic way they overcome things. How many threads? Like 45 now? I love talking about them to no end.

Star's beautiful in kind of a morose way, knowing that it's brilliance is caused by it's death.
