So, I didn't technically do a NaBloPoMo entry yesterday, but I did post twice, and one of them was a fic, so I think I get a pass. *nod* Anyway.

** Apparently shoebox_project (the epic MWPP fanfic) was hacked, as well as the journal of the person who maintains it. By some Russian hacker tools, it seems. That sucks. Might be time to dust off the old LJ Archive. Especially considering the weird but probably unrelated friending-and-defriending by random empty Russian journals thing that's been happening to me and a few others I know of lately. Meh.

** Three more days until the smutty_claus deadline, so I'd best get cracking, huh? When it's done I'll be able to post my tables for 7snogs without feeling guilty. :P I'm kind of glad I didn't sign up for any more holiday exchanges -- then again, the winter fest season is still young.

** Top Chef starts tonight! :D I'll be happy to have my weekly Bravo fix back. I could never really get into Top Design.

I think that's it.

I think the hacking is related/inversely proportional to how public your journal is. So, maybe you should lock older non-fic entries? I dunno. Prolly also depends on how frequented your journal is, because sam_storyteller was hacked a month ago, and had the same deal.

You're probably right about locking, but for some reason I just hate the idea of locking everything up. Might be something to think about, though.

I did a second on the spur of the moment - yuletide. I'm good for signing up for things stupidly. Exercise your willpower and have SC be it! Power to staying strong! Of course more fic is good but....lol.

Hee! Yes, I actually had two occasions in the last few weeks to use my Russian reversal icon, which makes me happy because since the TOS stuff it's almost never been appropriate. :P

I was really tempted to try yuletide. I sort of wish I had. Everyone's so excited! But at least there'll be lots of stuff to read at Christmas.

I've been friended by nine Russian journals just the last week. It's driving me buggy, and yeah, a bit paranoid, so I googled a bit and found this theory/explanation of what it is: http://nympholept.livejournal.com/tag/russian+bots. Which is making me even more paranoid (the identity-theft theory), especially as I did friend back at least a few of those journals back when my fic was locked. At least I don't have any private information they might get at through my friends-locked entries, but yeah. Seriously considering reporting these journals to Abuse, as suggested in the link above, so they can at least look at whether they should be suspended. And maybe putting up a line in my info that because of this problem I won't friend back Russian journals unless I'm convinced through non-generic comments that they're real people.

Exactly -- what a pain. I've never added any of them back, but I've been wondering if I should lock my entire journal so that everyone not already on my flist would have to leave an actual comment to get added, but I don't like the idea of locking it all up. :/

Thanks so much for the link! I might go ahead and report them as well. The more people do, the more may get suspended (though a couple of the ones that friended me were deleted pretty soon afterward anyway).
