I'm actually going to be brief about True Blood this time instead of just saying I'm going to be brief and then rambling, haha. Because I want to talk about two other thingies!
True Blood 3x10
+ I'm extremely nervous/leery about the whole ~voodoo/mysticism/sorcery~~ thing that appears to be developing this week and last for Jesus and Lafayette. But their tripping scene was adorable, if stupid. XP
+ Pam has more sense than Eric or Sookie. Also, Eric's yo-yo act with being tender to Sookie one minute and throwing her to the wolves the next is getting on my nerves. I get that he's an asshole and this was very true to character, so I guess that means I just don't like him? W/E.
+ I'm glad Tara actually voiced what happened to her to Sookie, not that Sookie seemed to care - she still thinks Bill is more important, and had the nerve to accuse Tara of making her choose between them when she makes that choice almost all the time, and chooses Bill. Not like Tara hasn't already told her that Bill didn't lift a finger to help her.
+ WTF random guilty manpain!Sam plot? What he didn't have enough to do with taking care of Tommy and whatnot? Gross, and boring.
+ Jessica ♥♥ Only I've realised something - I really don't want Hoyt and her to get back together.
+ Jason kicking Bill out = :D :D :D
+ What's with all the Tara OTPage this season? She's had shippiness with Alcide, Sam, and Jason - I'll be sad if not one of them ends up going anywhere. I mean I love it, don't get me wrong. Tara/Jason has been a secret ship of mine since the very beginning and that moment before he confessed about Eggs was hot and sweet and perfect. I'm glad he confessed before things got out of hand though.
Mad Men 4x05
+ UGH, Roger. But ♥ Joannie. More evidence that he needs her in his life.
+ Why do I still ship Don/Betty you guys. WHY. They were so horrible to each other this week, and at the same time they don't show that kind of passion for anyone else. (SHIP!GOGGLES, LALALA)
+ So glad to see Betty this week, and LOL that she's seeing her daughter's child psychiatrist.
+ Don is a bastard.

Finally, I'm about halfway finished reading Runaways. LOVE.
Runaways v1x1 - v2x15
General thoughts! I love this comic, with its pretty art and diverse group of characters and strong females and great characterizations. It's also got some pretty tight writing and funny, smart dialogue. The kids are pretty glib with the pop culture references even though some seem a little before their time - which is actually pretty Whedon-esque (though I don't think I've got to the arc he wrote yet, I think that's still ten issues away).
The story should make a great movie. I'm really concerned about the casting, because the breakdown isn't very encouraging. Nico Minoru is Japanese-American but that's not specified in the breakdown. The only character who's a PoC and actually specified in the breakdown is Alex, who turns out to be a villain. ://// I smell fail.
The casting hasn't actually happened yet so there's hope, but as vague as it is there's a very real fear of whitewashing. If Nico isn't Asian when she is one of the first Asian-American comic book heroines... I will actually scream. Here's what you can do.
+ Why am I afraid that Nico's going to die? I have no real reason for believing this except presumably one of them is going to die, and I'm assuming it can't be Gert, and Nico's my favorite so I guess I'm most worried about her. Well, maybe no one will die before the end of volume 3.
Anyway. GUYS I LOVE NICO. ♥ She's so brave and strong and stepped so seamlessly into leadership, but so young and confused and guarded with her feelings. I also love Gert a lot, and Karolina and Molly, and Chase and even Victor and.... basically everyone.

+ I'm nervous about Nico/Karolina. I've been nervous ever since it was clear way back in v1 that Karolina is in love with Nico, and I started OTP'ing them hard. SERIOUS OTP. But Nico's feelings aren't that clear yet. As far as I've read, Karolina's still gone and Nico thinks about her constantly, but she's also lonely and confused maybe just missing her best friend, so who knows. And now Karolina's fiance is somehow actually a girl (is there some kind of backstory issue for this? maybe I haven't got to it yet). SO YES, VERY NERVOUS ABOUT MY OTP.
+ I've just started reading about Alex's old RP buddies trying to bring him back and bringing back his dad instead, and though it's pretty well-written I'm not that invested in the characters.
+ Still excited to see where things go with Victor, and find out what seems to be up with Chase.
So has publication totally stopped on the series? Will there be other issues/volumes? I hope v3 isn't too much of a cliffhanger. I've also downloaded as many of the extras as I can find; most of them seem to be crossovers with Young Avengers, which I haven't read any of yet. The extras seem to be scattered throughout the normal continuity and I think I was supposed to read X-Men/Runaways after v2x12, but I didn't because I preferred to skip ahead. *g* Hopefully I haven't missed much, but I've got it downloaded just in case.
At some point I'm going to open up all these jpg files I've got and make some icons. *g*

He is just so mopey and she's just so much better than him, haha idk. She should leave him behind along with her 'childhood'.

But she's past that stage now, she she's not the insecure overprotected girl anymore, she's a young woman who's coming into her own, and she needs someone to challenge and support her rather than giving her bland "niceness", you know? She needs to go on adventures, take risks, find her boundaries, and Hoyt is the anti-thesis to that.
It's why I really, really wish she'd get with Tommy. They don't have to be an OTP, but he would be PERFECT for her. He's a good guy and his rough edges wouldn't hurt her now that she's been around a bit and done stuff and knows how to make someone stop doing something if it's making her uncomfortable. But he's done all the stuff she's missed out on, and he's up for adventures and challenges, and she could really, REALLY use that right now.

I'm not a book person, I really don't stan either Eric or Bill (though I am partial to Askars torso), but these mixed signals are really kind foreplay gone wrong. I ain't that hot for it anymore. No wonder book stans are so pissed off.
Sookie really is so ready to forgive all things Bill has done and turn a blind eye, yeah.

Hey, you read Detective Comics, right? That's a massive canon, isn't it? Do you know the approximate numbers/titles where I could find Rucka's stuff, like his Batwoman stuff and whatnot? I was poking around earlier today for downloads and didn't know quite where to start, haha.

I'd also recommend the current Power Girl series, and the Terra miniseries that preceded it.
