this post has nothing to do with anything that was ever important in life
Fuck Apple for making me want one of their dumbass iPad thingums.
First of all, I'm calling it an iTablet. The name? Clearly wasn't a woman's idea. Serious namefail. (LOL that #iTampon is trending on Twitter, btw.)NGL, I'm actually probably going to call it a PADD. Which only makes me want it more, ahaklhfa.
Second of all, Steve Jobs has the nerve to compare it to a Kindle when he's charging $200 more for it to start with.
Third of all, there is no excuse to sell a WiFi-only version separate from a 3G version, and then charge an extra $130 for that 3G version, if the data plan is optional and prepaid.
Fourth of all, how dare they come out with it this year when I was already going to possibly buy a Nook or a Kindle if I could swing it after tax season and now I may switch gears entirely.
Fifth of all, FUCK APPLE.It's totally a PADD though, omg shiny. At least give me the strength to wait until the second generation which might actually have, you know, USB or Flash or a webcam or something. FUUUUU--

(I am highly resistant to shiny tech-things, bb. HIGHLY RESISTANT! I do not have or want a smartphone and am loathe to replace my 6-year-old desktop because of Windows XP and I only bought an ipod classic because my clunky old ipod photo gave up the ghost. *g*)

We've had the Wii. We can deal with the iPad (though I am tired of the whole iNomenclature).
Having said all that, and bearing in mind that this device appears to exactly resemble (keyboard and all) what I've been dreaming of for about five years, I think I'll have to spring for a Rev B at some point later this year.
Once, during a particularly lean, computerless time, I survived for months on a Palm Tungsten T and a foldup mini keyboard. The portability hit a sweet spot for me that a laptop can't quite get, but the dinkiness was irritating as hell. From that moment, I started dreaming of what could be. When Apple first unveiled the wireless keyboard, I started to anticipate a 'large-Touch' at every 'one more thing'.
Besides ... as many books as I want without having to build more bookcases ... or rooms? In a format that I can curl up with? Sold!
