Owie.

What a morning.

So work didn't close today, and that is where I am. After spending the early hours of the morning trying to get out of my driveway. But really, I had it easy compared to a lot of people. My house has a carport, and so my car wasn't buried at all. But the snow we got from Tuesday into Wednesday got pelted with freezing rain and as such snow was extremely packed in and had a cement-like consistency that is literally impossible to dig through or shovel.

But? Still lucky. Because some good samaritan, some guardian angel, plowed the part of my driveway that isn't under the carport. OMG, ya'll. I'd totally not have been able to ever dig myself out if it wasn't for whomever that was. I walk outside to get my shovel and go to work on it, and find out that someone already did! Such a nice surprise. And they did the sidewalk, too. And in my town, if you don't get the sidewalk in front of your house clear by a certain time, you get fined. Yet another thing I'm getting used to living in my own place, I guess. My parents' house is really private and not on the main road at all so we didn't have to worry about it. But anyway.

So I warm my car up this morning, and try to back it out, and the wheels start spinning against this, like, ridge of ice and packed snow that whomever did my driveway couldn't possibly have got to as it was kind of under the carport and really close to my car. And I couldn't get over it so had to attempt to chisel it away. It took me 20 min to get half of it down then I tried again. And it worked, after many back and forth motions with my car. So I get into the driveway proper and it's cool, because once I'm ready to go, I can just go. I left car running and headed back to side door.

And slipped on ice. As in slipped and fell on a sheet of ice. Hard. I went into the air, fell flat onto my back, and my head went 'thunk' on the cement. Hence the subject line of this post. Seriously, I HEARD my head go thunk. I could've been knocked unconscious and no one was ostensibly around. So again, still lucky. I saw stars, though. I don't really hit my head much, don't even really fall much, not like that. I sat up in my driveway and just sat there for like 5 min. And then I got up, slid my way to the side door, got into my house, and just sat on the floor for like ten minutes more, until head stopped hurting.

Not fun, people. But miraculously, I'm at work and I don't feel  a bump on the back of my head yet, or any tenderness in the spot that hit, and I didn't feel nauseous or anything when it happened. But damn. Ouch.

And that was my getting-to-work-in-ice-when-I-really-didn't-even-feel-like-going-because-I-had-the-last-two-days-off story.

I hope you all are having a good day. You guys get to work/school alright?

*hugs*

Isn't it the weirdest to actually HEAR bones getting treated badly? That's like, outside the moment thing happening. I've fallen like that before, and just like this for you - I heard the thunk, saw nice orange and yellow stars (even some black spots) and then just kept on going. But the next day - oh, the next day was a killer. Sore neck, tender area, slightly lumpiness to head. Yeah, I hope you don't get that.

*hugs carefully*

I finished the test! I have NO IDEA how I did. I guess it's better than saying I totally balked.

:D Sorry you slipped like that, incidents like that are just plain wrong.

*hugs gingerly back*

Yes, very strange indeed. I would really hope that I don't have the same thing as you tomorrow. My neck's already sore, though... *cries*

Hmm. I like your icon because, if I shut one eye and squint, it almost doesn't look like Justin Timberlake, of whom I am not a fan. *nods*

bahahah, no like the person in icon? mreh, that's alright. The only reason I took that one was because of the expression, slightly confused - maybe a little beligerent or stubborn. Mostly confused though.

And it's black and white, BLACK AND WHITE IS LOVE.

yeah, like I said - I hope you DON'T get anymore soreness, it's not fun. Especially when trying to sleep, or maybe turn your head, or just act normally. *shakes head*

I am SO HUNGRY now.

*sigh*

...how about...this one? *points to icon*
