Dollhouse 1x07 "Echoes"
Okay, even though 1x06 was supposed to be the watershed ep for the series, I think this episode was the best one yet.
ADELLE, BOYD, DOMINIC AND TOPHER. TRIPPING. BRB, LOLING FOREVER.
Finally some laugh-out-loud funny that wasn't also incredibly creepy. And they all acted it so well! Adelle was AWESOME (srsly I love her more every episode), with the brown and the incomprehensible lentils and 'haaaaaard Rs' and jumping on the furniture. I'm fangirling Olivia Williams hardcore. And Boyd, on the piano? WIN. Even Topher was funny and I kind of can't stand him when he's sober and being a creep. Dominic was also too funny, stroking his suit.
At the end of the episode, the awkward between Adelle and Dominic was priceless. (I also liked Adelle's 'we acted like idiot children'. Kind of highlights the brief role-reversal that happened where the actives were the ones with their heads on straight and everyone who controls them was tripped out. Course, the actives eventually all glitched, but still.)
Echo's storyline is still not that interesting. So she became a doll to avoid getting into trouble for her activism thing? *shrug* Whatever. What I found most interesting is what seems to be a connection between her and Adelle that's a bit more personal than just Adelle having recruited her. There's something there, something that makes Adelle care more about Echo than the other dolls. Almost maternal. Also, more and more I think Adelle is the mole.
I love Boyd.
Sierra. Stop making me cry. :( I mean, I'm very glad that they haven't simply dropped the fallout of what her handler did to her and didn't tie it all up in a bow just because he's dead, but gah. *hugs her*
WTF was Victor's flashback all about? And how great was he as the agent guy? It's nice seeing that the dolls have a lot of pain that's under the surface and can't ust be mind-wiped away.
So is the personality of Mellie an imprint or not? We now know her code name is November, but when the other dolls flashed back, they flashed back to either their pre-doll selves (echo-caroline) or their blank-slate selves (Sierra), but November flashed back to Mellie and her feelings toward Paul. So is Mellie who November really is? If so, it makes the relationship with Paul a bit more palatable. But I'm confused.
