*actually updates journal for once*

Hi f-list! How are things with you? I've been reading and dropping comments here and there, but as most of you know, I tend to suck at keeping this thing updated. Welcome to new friends, too! *waves*

--- Firstly, [livejournal.com profile] inell is now driving back home to Texas after a long weekend visiting me here in Southern PA. So, everybody wish her a safe drive. *sends her good juju on her way home*

--- In addition to meeting [livejournal.com profile] inell this weekend, I also got to meet [livejournal.com profile] cloverdew! Inell and I drove down to MD, where I work and used to live, to meet Sara for lunch, chatting, and movie-seeing. It was my first time ever meeting anyone from fandom, so for me it was nervous-causing, but it went really well and Inell and Sara are lovely. It was a lot of fun -- oh, and if anyone out there hasn't seen Ironman, you should. :D

--- We've some openings at [livejournal.com profile] road_ahead, so if anyone has a yen for some Parvati Patil or Lisa Turpin (both of whom have played and active friends/roomies), let me know! We'd also love to cast George and Ginny Weasley, and we could do with some Slytherins -- Theo Nott, Adrian Pucey, or Marcus Flint would be great. :D We've updated our available characters list here and it has links to backstory for the characters who are up for recast. Just email me at hnicole83@gmail.com or ping me this evening at emotionalinertia on YM if you want any information. I love RA and everyone in it, and my boys drive me nuts on a regular basis. Especially Harry. Oy.

--- So we're just about done with all the season finales for the summer. American Idol's is tonight, but I likely won't even watch cause I could care less who wins that one. LOL. So You Think You Can Dance starts on Thursday though, which I'll definitely be watching. I DVR'ed last weeks' SPN and Smallville finales, but while I got a chance to watch Smallville's, I haven't caught up on SPN, and by some stroke of luck, I'm still unspoiled for it. *knocks on wood* Also on my catch-up list is Bones. And I caught the Gossip Girl finale last night, which wasn't quite what I'd built it up to be in my mind before watching. The Tudors doesn't end for two more weeks, and then Weeds starts again. Whee! /random TV inventory

--- I want to re-do my layout. I hesitate because it took me ages to do my current one, though I've had it for a long time now and the next time around the html will be easier for me because I'm more used to it. I also hesitate because I really want a Joe-GL layout, but I'm not sure I'm ready to let Tommy go. *laughs* Anyway, I'll be playing with some graphics and seeing if I can come up with something pretty enough to switch out.

--- Another primary this evening. I intend to distract myself with whatever threads I can get my boys into.

Since I might be casting my ballot at any moment for the last three damn weeks, I have been called so. many. times. akjsdhfkjahldsf.

It's a more general commentary on Dean's language throughout S3, that this season he's referred to women as skanks, bitches, whores, etc, a lot more than previously. Trollprincess counted up instances just to see if her general sense was true, and voila, wank.

Hee! *pets*

Oh, gotcha, re: Dean. Well yes, but. Am I a bad feminist for not giving that language a whole lot of thought before you just now mentioned it? Even knowing for a couple of days that the wank was about misogyny? >_> Heh. Does this mean I can't ogle him anymore?

Or, OR, does the fact that I objectify him in my mind even the score a little and make it all okay? <_< Somehow I doubt this will temper any enjoyment I have of the latest episode when I see it. *ducks head and skulks away*
