I was talking about this show to a woman who works in sexual violence and youth education, describing the first season scene where Nathan is all 'which of the chicks will you have and which will I have?" and Curtis looks at him like he's a worm and says something like, 'What? They don't get a choice? Fuckwit.' and then goes on to have a respectful relationship with Alisha, paying full attention to her needs and situation as if it's the normal way to behave.
Her jaw was dropping to the floor.
I wanted to dump this show after the first episode and was encouraged to keep watching. I think that the show has used Alisha's bullshit 'power' to tell a really good story and to sneak in, without sacrificing the show, some awesome behaviour modelling for their audience.
