1. Almost goes without saying, but Bonnie is my favorite character. I did some rambling about this on tumblr the other day so I'm gonna share what I said about her here: As much as I love many of the other characters, it’s good that there’s someone on the show who treats vampires as actually dangerous, who thinks about the lives at stake. And she’s STRONG, she doesn’t back down from what she believes even if it hurts her relationships because it’s all coming from a place of wanting to protect the people she loves no matter what. She holds Stefan and Damon responsible for the harm they’ve caused which leads to some extremely hot interactions and lots of badassery on her part. At the same time, she’s flawed because she has (I believe) a tendency to channel or project her own guilty feelings as anger against others. She’s COMPLEX and endlessly fascinating and needs to be in every episode because the writers should know how capable she is of driving an actual plot. My concerns: a) that she’ll only ever be brought out when they need her to do a spell aka just as a plot device and b) that the writers might be taking her in some kind of dark!Willow direction; that they aren’t intending her interactions with Damon in the same way I’m reading them if that makes sense. and c) that she and Damon will never make out.

2. I'm a Stefan girl. I love him ridiculously, he never annoys me the way Damon occasionally can, and Stefan/Elena is REALLY working for me right now. I'm not even sure when it happened!

3. Matt/Caroline doesn't really work for me. I think they are/were cute on the surface but Matt made me uncomfortable the way he treated her sometimes. That said, I thought Caroline agreeing to help Katherine to protect him made a lot of sense and tugged at my heart.

Yes to everything you said about Bonnie except may she never ever make out with Damon, but have buttloads of UST and effed up complex emotions instead.

Yaaaaay hello there, fellow Stefan fan <3 If Damon wasn't going around being unstable and killing people while pining after one girl, people would be all over that boy.

I've always loved Matt/Caroline because they both seemed to have a lot of issues, but they were slowly working through them. They also got some incrediby sweet/realistic scenes together, and it's a very nice contrast to the omg true love and their remarkable stability in spite of incredible odds that is Stefan and Elena. I just hope they don't turn into the dramarama of the show now. I have a very low limit when it comes to emo pining and back and forthness. Very dull.

Hee! ACTUALLY, if I can say so, it wasn't the writing in the fic that tipped me off completely (though I had narrowed it to you and one other). I might've had an inkling but I wasn't sure until you posted your reclist and it wasn't on there. Because a) it was objectively brilliant and I felt like it would've been on there had you not written it and b) you recced almost every non-M/A fic but that one so it didn't seem likely you missed reading it. *g*

Either way, you're a total goddess and for about 24 hours after reading that I couldn't even type a sentence without putting mechanic!Gwen in it somewhere.
