Glee 1x16! One of the best episodes of the season. It kept getting better! For all the fanfare of the Madonna ep, this one was the better episode by FAR. I actually don't think this review is very coherent because I ran out of snark!
+ THE CHENOWETH WAS BACK. I love her. I wish she could stay as she makes Will 120% more bearable, even though he can't help trying to fix people and she's no exception. He needs to meet someone who can actually call HIM on his shit sometimes.
+ THIS EPISODE WINS FOR THE KURT SOLO ALONE. I was a little skeptical of Kurt doing Luther, but he was so so lovely, such a range. And just when I thought the sequence couldn't get any better, IT DID:

I LOVE MY GAY CHEERIOS.
+ Subplot with Mercedes was good - Mercedes had a lot to do this ep, so yay for that. I was glad Quinn got some more screentime out of it as well, and the convo was lovely even though Quinn is more than a bit privileged in the discourse, heh. It was a nice moment between the girls though. I really think Show doesn't know what to do with Quinn now she's out of Finn's life, to my disappointment, so idk. Overall fairly happy with that whole thing.
And just when I thought that couldn't get any better, IT DID. Mercedes sang an entire song ALL by herself, with everyone else doing backup, no one else cutting in -- GOLDEN. And the perfect song for her voice and her character. KILLED IT. I got warm fuzzies. <33333
+ Sue was pretty wonderful, as always; I loved her subtly horrified expression as the reporter guy praised her on all that stuff that she would've NEVER intended to put in a routine. Jane Lynch played that perfectly. And watching her face, I like to think she was actually starting to give his words some thought at the end there. PROBABLY NOT, BUT.
+ Not only that, we got Kurt and his dad breaking my heart. OH GOD HIS DAD. I don't have words, every last scene was perfect, and real, and perfect!
+ NOT ONLY THAT, Finn and his mother! Unexpected gravitas and win!
+ AND OH GOD KURT'S FINAL MOMENT AS HE LOOKED IN ON FINN AND HIS DAD, OH MY SOUL
+ That was an entire episode, an entire 45 minute episode, in which Rachel sang backup and only backup. WHAT IS ANYTHING, YOU GUYS.
+ And the final number. Diana Ross are you kidding me? WINNNN. Can I just put Kristin Chenoweth in my pocket and keep her forever?
