Being Human 2x02
Apparently all I can do is post about TV lately. I do have other things going on! Most of them I don't much feel like getting into, though. :/ I would prefer to make picspams of Gwen and other things that are pretty and post them to my tumblr.
People are going around being wrong on the internet again about a variety of things, but damn if I feel like talking about that either.
Also! Good luck today,
inell! ♥ You know why.
Anyway, yes, things are happening, but you get TV. Being Human. Goddamn this show is exhausting.
+ Starting the show with gratuitous sweaty shirtless Mitchell tied to a chair was a good choice. Calm Carl in the background playing the piano made it even hotter. I generally approve of extremely kinky subtext on tv shows; I do watch Legend of the Seeker, after all.
+ Mitchell's adorable, by the way. I'm crazy about him being all awkward around Cleopatra, and her being all bemused but a bit charmed by it. I like the slow subtle pace of all that, as well.
+ Know who else is adorable? HUGH. My goodness he hits my buttons and I am totally charmed. I thought he was into Annie last week, but this week with him checking her out as she left and being all irritable about Saul just made me warm all over. I love his hair and his polo shirts and his scruff and the fact he is sweet with my girl. I'm officially on board with Annie/Hugh. Apart from the fact he can't see her anymore. FIX THAT, SHOW.
+ I loved the George/Annie scenes. He's sweet in an exasperated way that's consistent with how their relationship's always been. Absolutely loved the pub scene where he talks to her about Hugh. *g*
+ I'm glad Saul's out of Annie's life (so to speak), but it's really sad what happened to him; at first I thought he was plain crazy, but now I think he was driven there. And he redeemed himself a bit in the end. STILL. >:| I was extremely disturbed by that scene where he tries to pull her through the door. And the scene in his flat.
Speaking of Annie, way to break my heart in about three places, Show. You know, I'm going to get irritated if all her storylines end up revolving around her getting assaulted, abused, or otherwise victimized. Remember my glee last week about how awesome it is that she's stronger and solid and being strong for someone else (Nina)? Yes? Well you can imagine how much I now want to CRY over the fact she's invisible again. I seriously teared up.
That said it's good she HAS an actual dramatic storyline (I didn't want her to end up as comic relief or an emotional foil for everyone else's angst) and it's really intriguing that she's got TPTB after her for turning down death. I hope they use different methods from here on out.
Also? I know Mitchell had a lot on his plate this week but he was a dick to her. My Mitchell/Annie-loving heart wants to read that as jealousy but you know what, heart? No.
+ Speaking of Mitchell, I did like the flashback and seeing someone from his past who's actually good. Liked Carl a lot. He was really really pretty, and I kind of want Mitchell/Carl backstory fic. Or Carl/Dan backstory fic. The whole thing broke my heart.
+ I love Nina and it's just incredibly realistic seeing her struggle with the things she now has to see every day. It's good having the perspective of someone who hasn't been living with the whole supernatural thing for a long time; it drives home just how insane their lives are. Her cynicism and her thoughts that she ought to be caged are heartbreaking. Now of course she's putty in the creepy professor's hands. God I'm SO worried she'll end up in that chamber from episode one.
Also like that the show didn't drop the George/Nina tensions or pretend they'd gone away.
+ Ivan desperately needed some layers and this episode gave him one or two. He's a bit less ham-and-cheese than he was.
+ The cinematography on this show continues to be amazing. I need to make icons.

brb crying some more over Annie. I haven't picspammed her yet; might save that for its own post altogether.
