Dollhouse 2x01
I freely admit that I missed the hell out of this show and am so glad it's back. My scattered thoughts are these:
Claire's storyline? OFFICIALLY MY FAVORITE. Damn, Amy Acker is one scene-stealing BAMF. I love Claire SO much as a character. All brittle and damaged and sharp-edged and darkly funny at the same time. Gah. I flailed my way through her scenes with Topher. I pretty much only like him when he's around her or thinking about her because she seems to be the only thing that MAKES him think about what he's doing. Their scenes made the episode for me, and I can't help shipping them. HARD. I ship her with Boyd, too, in a healthier way. "I'm very tall." Oh, you sweetheart. ♥
Basically I want LOTS of Claire fic in general. And ahaha, the pranks.
As far as premieres go, it was pretty good; it set a lot of things into motion for the new season. The sex scenes still feel weird. I wish Joss or whoever is making these decisions would understand that the show is so much better when it's not trying to play up the skeevy dollsex and Echo's skimpy outfits for ratings. Also, I wish Jamie had been in more than one episode, but he was great and he sounds so much better with his real accent than he did on BSG. The opening scene was such a trip, though, with the little Helo vs Apollo angst fest. Awesome.
I still don't like Paul -- at all -- and I wish Boyd were still Echo's handler.
As per usual I'm more interested in everyone but Echo, but she's a bit more interesting than she was, plus I think Eliza is a little more comfortable in her acting, so I'm looking forward to seeing how this goes.
I ...don't even know what to say about Sierra's imprint this week, seriously what the actual hell lol, but I needed more of her and Victor. I so want this season to start focusing more on dolls who aren't Echo.
OH, ADELE. Why so fierce? I think my favorite moment for her was when she touched Victor's face, and then sort of shook herself out of it when he brought it up. That was weirdly hot.
