Car and stuff

** So I got a new car yesterday. My brother needed one kind of immediately and so I sold him my Echo that I've had for seven years. Then I went out yesterday to find a new one; my folks came with me. I settled on a Dodge Caliber; it was cost effective and it has more room than my Echo did. We'll see how it goes; I'm not good at making quick decisions, but I like the car, I think it's cute. I was gone for like twelve hours, though. The chick at the first dealership we went to was a such a twat that we left and drove across town to another place, where we got helped by a really nice guy whom I was much happier doing business with.

Pictures:

It rides really nice even though my Echo was a bit better with mileage. :D

** TV this season is making me happy. Too many new and returning shows to talk about, but suffice it to say I've been giving my DVR a workout. I'm enjoying the new season of Smallville more than I thought I would after Michael left because Tom is looking freaking amazing and there's a lot of cute canon/Clois stuff being slipped in that makes me bounce a little. Also some really interesting Chlark subtext in the last episode that I like just as much even though I know it's not going anywhere. I'm a little iffy about Supernatural so far -- the boys are still amazing and I've really enjoyed the first two eps, but I don't know what I think about these two new story arcs yet. We'll see.

I'm catching up on Grey's Anatomy and Heroes for this week, and Dexter starts tonight. *bounces around*

** brief PSA, sorry: Any of you who Americans who're old enough; are you all registered to vote? If not, you should be; deadlines are coming up. I don't care who you'd vote for but the fact that only about half of eligible people vote in any given election in this country is frankly astounding. It's a right that anyone who wasn't a white male landowner in this country had to fight for at some point or other. You can go here (no matter your affiliation) to check and make sure your registration and address are valid in the records, or to register if you're not already. /obligatory psa

That's it for now I guess. ♥♥♥

Haha! I would tomorrow but I don't think Heather would appreciate me living in my car in front of her house ;)

White male landowners also had to fight for their votes. That's part of what the American Revolution was about.

True, but technically they fought to build a government and a structure for themselves in which they could vote and then excluded from it just about everyone else who also lived here.

But yes, of course everyone's right to vote is precious. :)

sing it sister! comparatively speaking, the 'white male landowners' got things handed to them on a silver platter!

(nice car, btw) ;)

Thanks! I'm liking it so far. ♥

And yeah. Throughout history there are examples of people fighting to beat back oppression and then turning right around and oppressing others. It's certainly not unique to America - maybe it's just one of those inherent human flaws. Can't be on top without someone else being on the bottom. :/

*whistles* Nice car! :D

I'm enjoying the new season of Smallville maybe a little too much too. And I felt all tingly about the few Chlark slips, even if I too realize it's for naught *nods*

Thanks! :D

So you noticed the subtext too? I'm glad I wasn't the only one. It's so lovely in a bittersweet way, but that scene toward the end, man -- it was definitely there. I think it's because they so rarely talk to each other about their outside relationships and so whenever the subject comes up, the air gets a little thick.

Yeah, I sure noticed the charged air between them! I've always held a certain fondness towards the Chlark ship, cause it was my first when I started watching SV all those years ago (it doesn't seem like, right? Wow, hehe).

PS. Oh my God, your icon!
