Anyone want to talk about the Vampire Diaries finale?
+++ ANNAAAAAAAAA
Guys I really loved her. I REALLY hoped she'd stick around. DAMN IT. :( Especially since she's kind of been fridged to fuel Jeremy's angst and apparent turning. Between this and Pearl, sad doesn't cover it.
Not to mention, Jeremy's going to be boring again without her. D:
+++ Bonnie's UNREMITTING AWESOME kind of made up for it. I LOVE HER. HOW COULD ANYONE NOT LOVE HER. I don't even want to contemplate it. Let's just move on.
First off, she wasn't in it nearly enough, and it makes me worry -- now that she DOES have her own storyline and kickass new powers, are they only going to pull her out to use her magic and then put her away again? Because that's kind of what happened here, and even though every second of it was awesome, I want to see more about her life. I know she DOES have her own life and I appreciate that, but it's been ... mostly offscreen.
Still, how wonderful was she at ALL TIMES? Seriously. When she warned Stefan at the end (can they just have conversations all the time, please) I made actual dolphin noises. That was extremely hot.
+++ I'm kind of worried about Caroline, and not just for obvious reasons. She's one of those characters on genre shows that get shunted to the side because they're not main characters or Special, and I really loved her at first, but now it's like they don't even know what to do with her.
+++ Softie!Damon is a turnoff. YEAH I SAID IT. He can still be in the harem and everything, but I'm not much for woobies and never will be. Have to say I'm glad the kiss with Elena wasn't really with Elena, because I don't really ship it outside of threesomes. By the way, next season, Bonnie needs in on that action. STEFAN, DAMON, BOTH, I DON'T CARE.
+++ KATHERINE. Cue dolphin noises again because I kind of thought it was going to end on cliched OMG! Triangle! What Will Happen! season-finale teen show moment, but once again the show defied my expectations. I should have known. Can't wait for season 2. She's magnificent.
At least this is one show I won't have to wait a year to see more of. *side-eye at Brit shows and cable*

Ahem. And definitely feeling you on the Bonnie and Caroline stuff. It's like, they've got these awesome characters, but the premise of the show is really Elena/Stefan/Damon so the writers feel like they really can't spend too much time on them like they could with a more ensemble show.
I like Damon not being quite only a lolzy sociopath. But if they go down the "I must make up for everything" path I will be annoyed. Stefan's manpain is enough, thank you. Also, I want Bonnie to have a chance to set him on fire with her mind.

I only read the first and last point(still trying to stay a liiittle bit unspoiled) but whyyyy do they keep killing characters I like??! Jeremy is like poison! I demand he snaps and tries to bring them back! Including Vicki!
And Katherine should make things interesting, though I sorta find the actress' ability to be all evil and dangerous looking a bit lacking. She doesn't strike me as that much of a threat, nor able to convey the maturity of such an old "person".
...so how long til season 2 starts up? *g*

I LOVE BONNIE FOREVER AND SHE IS LITERALLY THE ONLY PERSON IN THE SHOW WHOSE MORALITY I AM AT ALL DOWN WITH SINCE SHE HAS INTEGRITY RATHER THAN BENDING THE RULES ABOUT THINGS LIKE MASS MURDER BECAUSE SHE PERSONALLY LIKES SOMEONE. FUCK YOU TUMBLR, SHE'S AWESOME, BASICALLY.
KATHARINE WAS FANTASTIC AND THE FACT THAT SHE KILLED JOHN GILBERT AND THE MAYOR GOT KILLED MEANS THAT THE VAMPIRE DIARIES HAS KILLED A ROUGHLY EQUAL AMOUNT OF CHARACTERS I CARED ABOUT AND THOSE I DIDN'T. I HATED TO SEE ANNA GO, BUT LOSING JOHN GILBERT WAS WORTH IT.
THIS IS THE CLOSEST I'VE COME TO CARING FOR DAMON. SURE HE WASN'T AS AMUSING, BUT HE WAS LESS MORALLY REPUGNANT. YOU WIN SOME, YOU LOSE SOME.

And yeah, I enjoy Katherine as a character but Nina's range isn't THAT huge. Still, I think her portrayal's interesting enough to keep me into it. When she killed Johnathan I was riveted.

(I actually like Stefan too, he's probably the secondmost principled supernatural person. In all things that are not Damon, anyway. But I like that weakness, and I like that Bonnie fully intends to keep him in check because of it.)
omg KATHERINE. Not only did she kill Johnathan, who was boring as all hell, she did it in the most entertaining way possible. That scene? was AWESOME. She can stay.
I'm all for Damon stopping the killins! I just don't want him to start riding the manpain train that usually goes along with it. (and yes, the fact Damon couldn't tell that was a vampire is majorly plot-holey.)
Aw, I do like Caroline, always have! I just think her storylines are repetitive and she deserves more material. I HATE how Matt treats her though. And GOOD POINT re: Tyler and his mom vs. Tyler and Vicki. That's ... kind of gross, actually.
